Well done, I moved to Doha in September of 2022 and have ZERO plans to move back to Houston. I’ve captured a lot of content on my experience here as an expat. Any questions, let me know.

@@MuscularMan008 so you’re required to have a work visa by a sponsoring company or business owner. My employer provides a housing allowance on top of my salary. Rents here depend on location, amenities, size, etc. So for example, a 4 bedroom + maid room will run about 10,000 QAR to 20,000 QAR. So I can only reference against American housing costs so yes it can be expensive if you’re not getting a housing allowance. Food, Uber, etc are very affordable indeed. Overall, if you’ve got a nice job, the living here is great due to no taxes and free healthcare. For me, I have no plans to ever move back to the states.

That is something that needs time. You see a lot of countries in the Middle East trying to do what Dubai does. Look at Saudi Arabia, they’re investing a lot in improving their image because they know that oil money isn’t gonna last forever. They need tourism.

Dubai is some where you can raise a family not worrying about safety of you children and loved ones all the time. The only crime happening is financial white collar crimes.

I went to Qatar 2 weeks ago. Talked with the Uber driver. He said there is much less job after world cup. Also I do not see much things going on around the city. Somehow I like the design of the city. Msheireb and Souq Waqif area is super nice. I hope Qatar will attract more expat by creating more opportunities

Guys I live in UAE/dubai it’s cheap over here idk where this guy get his information from 🤷. Yes there’s expensive places like every country has. But it’s mostly cheap. Here I pay 2100AED for 3 bedrooms and living room and a yard including water/electricity bill. Here I don’t pay for these bills. It’s included in the rent. You can find places like these. The most important thing over here is safety which no money can buy.
Qatar is pretty chill ngl. Last time something major and festive happened was fifa 2022.
